Paternity

hands-08While DNA is described as distinctive, two people at random have an unlikely base every thousand bases but DNA is almost 99.9% the same for everyone. Since DNA is contrived from two parents, a person will have DNA like them. Genetic markers inside the DNA sequences are unzipped and can establish the similarities between parents and children. Paternity tests are used in courts, crime scene investigations, inheritance claims, and other sources where proof of blood is required.  DNA testing can be expensive, and can cost around 400$. Paternity testing can be done once a child is conceived, i.e. before the baby is born. This is called prenatal DNA testing. In this type of testing umbilical cord tissue is used. Paternity DNA testing can be done while people are in two different locations. Only one sample from each parent is needed. This can be done all over the 50 states. Because DNA is fragile it must be stored, and transported a certain way.
